Organizing club:
The history of the organizing club DEG Rhein Rollers started in 1996 as a department of the icehockey club DEG Eishockey now playing in the 1st icehockey division (DEL), where the name partly originates from.
The organizing club itself has been founded in 1997 for the further development of inline-hockey, which should be organized independently with regard to financial aspects and organisation.
In Germany organized inline-hockey championships have been carried out by the German icehockey federation (DEB) first, so in the beginning the club DEG Rhein Rollers attended these championships winning the trophy in the years 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2001, vice championships in the years 2000, 2002 and 2003 and various championships with junior teams.
In the year 2004 the club turned to play under the German roller and inline federation (DRIV), which is now the recognised federation for inline-hockey in Germany.
The main venue and home of DEG Rhein Rollers is the “Eisstadion an der Brehmstrasse”. As inline-hockey is played all year-long, other different venues in and outside of Düsseldorf are used for practice and games. The club has more than 200 members and has 7 teams, while 3 teams attend official championships.
